Now in its 30th year, Europe’s largest language event for the language sector returns this year to the Olympia Exhibition Centre, London and includes lots of talks, classes, seminars and one hundred exhibitors. The latest products and techniques, ways to learn and ways to teach will be shared at what promises to be a fun event for all those linguists out there. And this year, everything – talks, classes, seminars and admission – is FREE!
Colleagues from the Cultural Institutes and Embassies will be there and the European Commission and other EU institutions will be at stand E22, providing information and materials about the European Union, including advice on language careers in the EU institutions and multilingual resources for teachers. In addition, various speakers will be presenting in the seminar programme, including a Translating Europe national workshop on Saturday 10 November, in the form of a panel discussion on the future of translation in the age of big data. Experts from academia and industry will discuss Translators in the digital era – what kind of jobs will we have ten years from now?
